Profile of the youth in Zambia: In the 2020 FinScope, it is observed that the youth are in the majority of the Zambian adult population at 63 per cent, and a larger proportion (64.6 per cent) live in urban areas.
The Zambian youth are relatively more educated than older adults. Regarding economic status, youths are highly dependent on an irregular income, casual piece works, and family and friends. Financial inclusion among the youths in Zambia: This report shows that the overall financial inclusion gap between the youth and older adults stands at 4.9 per cent. Focusing on the use of specific financial services, the following are the key findings:
